This month, CardioVisual is proud to share Roderick Tung, MD’s findings using the HD Grid
Catheter in a recent ablation. Dr. Tung is an internationally renowned cardiologist specializing in
cardiac electrophysiology. An expert in the management of heart rhythm disorders, he has a
particular focus on advanced therapies for atrial fibrillation and ventricular arrhythmias and
specializes in arrhythmia management through catheter ablation. Dr. Tung is also one of a few
electrophysiologists in the world who routinely performs epicardial mapping and ablation.
In addition to Dr. Tung’s clinical work, he’s an associate professor of medicine and the director
of cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Chicago College of Medicine. Dr. Tung is
dedicated to researching and investigating new ways to treat and manage arrhythmias. He
currently serves as the principal investigator for several prospective randomized ventricular
tachycardia ablation clinical trials focusing on the role of robotic navigation, high-density
multielectrode mapping, and early intervention to improve patient survival. Dr. Tung’s work has
been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including Circulation, Journal of the
American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm, Circulation: Arrhythmia Electrophysiology and
Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology. His philosophy toward patient care combines
innovative strategies, the latest technologies, and compassion for patients.
